Beer can chicken is a new American Classic. Okay, so maybe new is a relative term. But it’s the perfect dish for your outdoor grill. In less than an hour and a half (and not a lot of effort), you can have a moist, crspy-skinned roast chicken that’s also seasoned with a bit of sweetness and zippiness. Not only is it good for a family meal, it also works very well if you’re casually entertaining.
My most recent beer can chicken was last week, when I taught the grilling and smoking class at Different Drummer’s Kitchen. Actually, I did thtee of them. And everyone was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to prep and cook the birds. It was definitely a hit. So get up and try it.
